Testing times!

Over the last couple,of weeks we have managed to do a bit more pre season testing at Snetterton on the 300 circuit than in previous years.

Our first day out was just with TC and the orange B, TC is new to circuit racing and the car is new to him so he wanted to get as much seat time as possible before the first race. We also wanted to assess the car before the season started. Both car and driver performed well, there are a few little things to sort out on the car but all in all it’s a well sorted and sweet handling bit of kit and certainly good value for money.

The second day was the CSCC pre season test day, again TC was out in the B and Matt was giving Bluebell an airing following some revisions to the ignition system. Again TC and the car went well, Bluebell was running better than at the end of last season but the test day did show up that a bit more needed to be done and following on from this a couple,of small problems were located and fixed and the car went to the dyno for the ignition mapping to be properly set up.

The last of the three days we took along TC (you can’t keep him away) and his B, our Trackday 328 BMW for a bit of a jolly and the Red C for a shakedown. Mike wasn’t able to make it over so Matt deputised behind the wheel of the C and reported back to Mike at home in Jersey. A couple of small issues were flagged up with the C, all easy fixes that will be sorted in time for the first race.

All in all three successful days, we did find a few problems and had a couple of things to sort out but after all that’s why you go testing! It’s much better to find these things ahead of time!

Looking forward to the first Swinging Sixties race this coming weekend at Snetterton.
